Posted February 24th, 2013 by PTA

The Big Read:

Please join us on Thursday, February 28 at 6:45pm for The Big Celebration 2013, our culminating event for The Big Read. We will be discussing THE EMPTY POT by Demi and OUT OF MY MIND by Sharon Draper.

Even if you haven’t finished or started the books, you can participate. You can still borrow books from the school or public libraries, or purchase them from Sparkhouse or Words (10% discount). Please RSVP to Donna Herley if you plan to attend. Upon RSVPing we will send you some discussion questions to think about with your child, ahead of time.

“A Night at the Library” Seat Reservations:

Seat reservation forms for this year’s Clinton Student Theatre presentation “A Night at the Library” were sent home this week in your child’s backpack. The form is attached again, in case you did not receive it. Please read it carefully, and follow the instructions. Remember — seating in the auditorium is limited and the shows tend to fill up quickly, so make your reservations as early as you can!

Please contact Christy McElynn with any questions.

Cultural Arts Assembly to Explore the Weather — Feb. 22

Given the erratic weather patterns lately, many are left wondering why. Clinton School students will have an opportunity to learn more about the science behind weather patterns and the factors that make it a sunny day or a blustery one at a Cultural Arts assembly on February 22.

The Franklin Institute’s Traveling Science Program will present a dynamic show that reveals the science of weather. Students will discover what makes a cloud, explore thunder and lightning, and even create snow.

Parents and younger siblings are welcome to attend the assembly and sit in the balcony. The K-2 assembly will take place in the auditorium at 12:15pm; and 3-5 assembly at 1:30pm.
