Exciting News from the Art Room! Vote for our Clinton Artist.

Posted February 27th, 2013 by PTA

Hi Everyone!

I just got some very exciting news from Artsonia — an online art gallery where I post some of our students’ work. One of our Kindergarten artists has been selected for the Artist of the Week contest!

You can see her snowbirds painting, as well as the other finalists’ artwork in her age group, by clicking here: http://www.artsonia.com/museum/aotw/vote.asp

Under her picture it says “AH119 (Knd) Maplewood, NJ” so you can be sure you are voting for the right person. You can vote daily from all of your devices — cell phones, iPads, laptops, work computers, home computers, you name it! Voting is open until Saturday so please spread the happy news and stop by Artsonia each day to help our little artist win!

Thanks so much for your support!!

The Big Read Event is Tomorrow Night!

Posted February 27th, 2013 by PTA

We look forward to seeing you Thursday Feb 28th at Clinton School for The Big Celebration 2013, our culminating event for The Big Read. We will be discussing THE EMPTY POT by Demi and OUT OF MY MIND by Sharon Draper.

Please plan to arrive at Clinton School as early as 6:30pm for sign in, and to secure your spot in a small discussion group. The event will begin on or around 6:45pm and last until around 8pm.

Even if you haven’t finished or started the books, please consider participating. In particular for the K-2 grades, we will be reading the short book, The Empty Pot, in these discussion groups, so that the book is fresh. You can still borrow books from the school or public libraries, or purchase them from Sparkhouse or Words (10% discount)!

The PTA is collecting gently used children’s/Young Adult books at the Big Read sign-in table. Please consider donating your unwanted books.

Clinton PTA presents The Science of the Weather

science assembly 023

If your student hasn’t mentioned it yet, be sure to ask about last Friday’s science assembly. Your support of the Clinton PTA’s fundraising event makes events like this possible for all of our children. The traveling education programs of the Franklin Institute presented the science behind weather phenomena such as high winds, lightning, and thunder. And be sure to ask about the fire and smoke!
