Clinton School’s Art & Music Festival is June 2nd

Come enjoy the arts at Clinton School!

Clinton School’s Annual Art & Music Festival is this Thursday, June 2nd, from 6:00-7:30pm.

Student art from every child will be displayed in the hallways. Viewing starts at 6pm.

The musical show, featuring Orchestra, Band and Chorus, starts at 6:30pm.

Special thanks to Ms. Tischio and Mrs. Martin for coordinating this event.

Rainbows, Locomania and more Rainbows!

Don’t forget to dress your child in the colors of the Clinton Rainbow! Friday morning, the kids will pose for the 4th annual Rainbow picture.
5th grade – red
4th grade – orange
3rd grade – yellow
2nd grade – green
1st grade – blue
Kindergarten – purple

Locomania is on Friday afternoon. Please send your child to school with a water-filled drink container with your child’s name on it because they will be moving and shaking to a great program run by the Clinton PE teachers and the PTA. It is expected to be quite warm and sunny so be sure your child is wearing sunblock and a hat might be a good idea too. If you would like to help, or just cheer on the students, Grades K, 2, ad 5 will be at Underhill Field track from 12:50 – 1:40 and Grades 1, 3, and 4 will be there from 1:45 – 2:30. Need more info? Help build a Rainbow! Come to 16 Highland Ave to make our 3rd annual Memorial Day Float. Saturday, May 28, from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM
Sunday, May 29, 10:00 AM until we are finished
Please bring old newspaper and plastic bags, if you can.

This is a great activity for the entire family! Come for an hour or for entire day. Wear old clothes and shoes, and meet other Clinton families during this fun event. Then march with us in the Maplewood Memorial Day parade! Wear Clinton School Red and meet us at the parking lot on Parker Avenue (next to the train tracks) at 8:15am. School Supply List and Kits Order Form 2011-2012

Dear Clinton Parents/Guardians,

We will again be using the Staples SchoolKidz, Inc. and their Teacher Tailored® back-to-school supply kit program for next school year. Here, all the shopping has already been done for you!

The PTA is offering this program as a service to you. *You can purchase the kit by completing the attached form and returning with payment in an envelope marked “Clinton PTA School Supplies”, or you can order directly online by typing www.shopttkits.com. Ordering online is by far the most convenient method of ordering your child’s school supplies. We encourage you to use this preferred method of ordering.

Please follow these steps when placing your online order:
1. Go to www.shopttkits.com
2. Enter the school account number: 88821 in the search box.
3. Choose the appropriate grade level kit
4. Enter your child’s first and last name
5. Add to cart, confirm your order and checkout. IMPORTANT NOTE: YOU DO NOT NEED TO SIGN IN OR CREATE AN ACCOUNT WHEN CHECKING OUT. YOU MAY CHECKOUT WITHOUT AN ACCOUNT BY ENTERING YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS ONLY.

Weekend Fun for the Entire Family

Hear ye, hear ye! The Clinton School Renaissance Fair is here!
There will be food, games, crafts, and much more. Join us in the Clinton School field from 11am-3pm this Saturday. Bring your friends and neighbors to this fun-filled event. You may even see a dragon!

Don’t forget that Saturday is also the last day of our Spring Book Fair. 11am-3pm in the cafe. Books make great gifts for teachers, graduates and dads!

After all the rain this week, we will all see a rainbow…the Clinton Rainbow! Sunday kicks off the building days for our 3rd annual Memorial Day Parade Float. Inspired by our school photo, this year we will build a 20′ rainbow! Kids and parents of all ages can help!

Please join us for our first float-building day, this Sunday, May 22,from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM, at Erica and Mike Dussman’s house, 16 Highland Avenue. Please RSVP so we have an idea of how many to expect. Email Jackie Lahey or call 973-313-9757. Prepare to get messy, and wear old clothes! We will be dying newspapers in buckets of food coloring. We will provide rubbergloves. We will also be making yellow ribbon bows to hand out to the parade watchers. There will be tasks for both children and adults. Come for an hour or come for a day. All are welcome! We will provide drinks. If you plan on staying for the day, please pack a lunch or bring snacks. If you can’t make it this time, there will be two more float-buildingdays: Saturday, May 28, 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM Sunday, May 29, 10:00 AM – ?

An Invitation for 5th Graders and Parents…

You are invited to attend the General PTA Meeting on Thursday, May 19, at 7:15pm in the Clinton School auditorium. At that meeting, Clinton students who are now students at South Orange Middle School and the SOMS Assistant Principal, Kathy McDonough, will present information about making the successful transition to middle school and will be able to answer any questions that parents and students might have.

All parents are welcome to attend. We will also announce the newest PTA Board members for 2011-2012.

Please join us for this very informative evening. Babysitting will be available for children ages 4 and up.
