One of the best PTA programs starts tomorrow!

Posted September 30th, 2009 by PTA

Tomorrow Thursday, October 1st, is the first day of our Fall 2009 After School Enrichment Program! We have 164 children participating and a wonderful line-up of classes.

If your child is taking an Enrichment class, please remind them that morning to go to the gym at 2:35 dismissal for attendance. If they attend the ASP Program in the cafeteria, they must sign in at ASP first, before coming to the gym for attendance. You might also want to remind Ms. A at ASP that your child is participating.

Teachers will be given name tags for students to wear to the gym to facilitate lining up and attendance taking.

When picking up your child, please enter the school through the main entrance. Proctors will be available to direct you to your child’s Enrichment classroom if you are not sure where it is located. All children must be signed out directly from the classroom, unless you have given them permission to walk home alone (3rd grade and up) on the registration form.

Class ends promptly at 3:45. Please be on time. Proctors are volunteers and late pick-ups cause inconvenience for them (and their own children) and anxiety for the children who are waiting.

We’re looking forward to a great session.

Join the PTA

Posted September 25th, 2009 by PTA

The Clinton PTA has done some amazing things over the past few years. Just browse our website and you’ll see many noteworthy accomplishments as well as a strong sense of commitment, passion, and creativity.

Please support the PTA by sharing your ideas, responding to calls for volunteer opportunities, and to committing yourself to making Clinton School a special place for every single student in the building.

Another simple and inexpensive way to help is to make your membership official ($12 per person) by completing this form.

You can return the form and payment in your child’s backpack (ATTN:
PTA membership).

Last year we exceeded our goal of having 200 members. This year we are aiming for 225! Please help.

And, if you join by October 16th, you’ll earn a chance to be in a raffle for one of several gift certificates generously donated by local businesses.

Have a great weekend!

Link Your Target Credit Card to Clinton School

Posted September 22nd, 2009 by PTA

The Clinton PTA wants to remind you about Target’s Take Charge of Education Program, which allows you to earn money for Clinton every time you use your Target Credit Card, at no extra cost to you.

At the moment, there are 39 Target credit card holders that have designated Clinton School as their school of choice and the last check we received from Target was for $443.00. In a school with close to 500 students, we think we can do even better.

Here’s how it works. If you already have a Target credit card, simply visit Target.com/tcoe or call 1-800-316-6412 to designate Clinton Elementary School/Maplewood, NJ. Our Target ID# is 74069.

If you don’t have a credit card yet, but plan on getting one, now is a perfect time because Target will give you a discount on your first purchase, AND you can designate Clinton School as your Take Charge of Education at the same time.

When you use your Target RedCard, Target will donate up to 1% of your purchases to Clinton. You can track Clinton’s progress anytime at Target.com/tcoe.

Happy Fall!

With that extra half-hour in the afternoon, take a walk to Underhill or the other local fields and catch a bit of action! Kids love to cheer for their neighbors and learn about a new sport, and it’s much cheaper than professional tickets and very convenient.

This afternoon, the girls’ field hockey team plays at Underhill, and tomorrow, boys’ soccer is at Meadowlands and Floods Hill.

All the schedules can be found on highschoolsports.net .

How about pizza for dinner?

Posted September 21st, 2009 by PTA

Every Monday evening Clinton School will receive a percentage of your bill if you have dinner at the Village Trattoria (eat-in or take- out). Simply mention Clinton School when you purchase your food, save the receipt, and send it in to school in your child’s backpack, marked “Village Trattoria.”

This is a great way to support a local business, earn money for Clinton, and save yourself the trouble of making dinner, all at the same time.

This offer is good for both the Maplewood (2 Inwood Place, Maplewood Village) and South Orange location (21 South Orange Ave.) of the Village Trattoria.
